Gastroenterology Center of Connecticut accepts payment from most major insurance companies:

Please note, however, that individual health plans vary in their coverage. Please contact your insurance company to verify that we participate in your health plan and to clarify what your financial responsibility is when you come to see us (co-pay, payment toward a deductible, or coinsurance).

Paying For Your Office Visit

If you have a health plan that we participate in, we submit your claims to the insurance company for you. Our receptionist makes a copy of your insurance card at check-in, and if you have a co-pay, it is due at that time. We accept check, MasterCard and Visa for your convenience.

A special note for patients who have an Oxford health plan: Your insurance company requires you to obtain a referral from your PCP's office before seeing a gastroenterologist. Please be sure to bring the referral with you to your appointment.

If you do not have a health plan that we participate in, you are expected to either pay for your visit up front or set up an automatic payment plan (see below).

Paying For Your Procedure

When you have a GI procedure done, four different entities come together to ensure that it is safe, comfortable, and effective:

  • the gastroenterologist who performs the procedure
  • the anesthesiologist
  • the facility (the hospital or surgical center where the procedure is done)
  • the pathology lab (if polyps are removed for analysis)

You can expect to receive separate bills from each of these entities for the role they play in your care. Contact your insurance company directly if you are unsure about how your health plan handles each of these bills.

A special note for patients of our Endoscopy Center: When you schedule your procedure with us, we check to see if your insurance plan requires you to pay for some or all of our facility charge. You can expect someone from our billing office to contact you before your procedure; we let you know what portion of the facility charge (if any) is due on the day of your procedure.

Automatic Monthly Payment Plans

Patients who owe a substantial sum, either because of a high-deductible health plan or a lack of insurance coverage, may set up an automatic monthly payment plan (Visa or Mastercard) to ease the immediate burden of their healthcare costs.
